Welcome to the Queensland Branch of the AACBT

The Australian Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (AACBT) an interdisciplinary society. It is the national professional body for practitioners and researchers of cognitive and behavioural therapies.

The Association is concerned with the application of behavioural and cognitive sciences to understanding human behaviour, developing interventions to enhance the human condition, and promoting the appropriate utilisation of these interventions.

The AACBT is a non-profit society organised for scientific, literary and educational purposes that operates as an interest group rather than as an accreditation agency.

The objectives of the Association are to:

  • provide continuing education and training in the principles and practice of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)
  • publish and disseminate information to members about developments in CBT nationally and internationally
  • increase the general community's understanding of the principles and ethical practice of CBT
  • liaise and consult with other individuals or organisations in the teaching and practice of CBT
  • promote the ethical practice of CBT
